Laura was born in Harlingen, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. She obtained both her undergraduate and law school degrees at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. While in law school, Laura was active in student government and served as the Student Bar Association Vice President. She was also the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Society Secretary and was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society. Also, during law school she was a member of the Order of Barristers organization, which can only be joined by excelling in a moot court competition. In her law practice, she devotes much of her time to serious personal injury and wrongful death claims in the products liability and personal injury areas of the law. She also practices in the area of commercial litigation and business disputes. Laura is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association and serves the community by participating in the Houston Bar Association's IDEA Committee where she counsels middle school students about the legal consequences stemming from the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and narcotics. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, snow skiing and travel.
